A new way to get children to eat their dinner

The other night Audrey gave Chad a piece of bubble gum. After he finished his dinner, he popped it in his mouth, and was blowing bubbles. The kids (especially Carter) thought this was hysterical. Chad can blow some pretty big bubbles! Carter kept saying "blow another bubble!" so Chad said "take a bite of your dinner, and I'll blow another bubble."

I've never seen a kid put down his dinner so quickly. Chad blew a lot of bubbles, Carter ate every bite of his dinner (for once!), and we all had a lot of laughs. I think I may put a piece of bubble gum at Chad's place setting every night ...

Hey, now that is what I call ingenuity.

I'm impressed both with Chad's bubble blowing ability as well as you using it to your advantage! Very clever! All we have to motivate kids to eat right now is the Dogwood Festival. Eeck.

Wow, Chantel ate Green beans in a bag, on the way to Wal-Mart last night, since she didn't want to wait until we got home and she ate them later, to have her weekly candy/treat. She doesn't like to miss that. Motivation. Chantel's usually a very good eater, we are lucky. Ralph and I were both picky when we were little, but both enjoy cooking and try so many different foods, so that may be why.
